About

I’m a lifelong musician who started composing in high school and spent my undergraduate years focusing on music education, theory and composition and music performance. After graduation, I did a career in the United States Air Force including 7 years as the bass trombonist with the Airmen of Note. I went on to other opportunities in the Air Force, but kept my hand (and ears) in music including 2 years as the Music Director for the Spokane Jazz Orchestra and serving as an Instrumental Music Director in various churches.

This last experience showed me the lack of music literature that is available for student and adult instrumentalists who may play at an intermediate (high school or college) level as well as the opportunities to bring intergenerational instrumental groups together. I am not downplaying the vast classical instrumental literature and enjoy Gabrielli as much as anyone. In fact, you will see transcriptions in my music catalog of some of these works. However, the bulk of my music takes a more “New World” approach and focuses on “perform-able” instrumental ensembles. Along the way, I’ve written for student and professional level organizations.
